Feed Hayward

Feed Hayward is a resident-led group formed to address food justice-related issues in our city. Our first campaign is focused on creating a regular market for South Hayward residents, bringing fresh produce, local goods, and culturally-relevant entertainment to one of Hayward’s most under-resourced neighborhoods.

Future campaigns include:

Convening and coordinating local food non-profits to improve local food recovery and cold-storage systems.
Creating a community refridgerator pilot in partnership with local shelters.

Feed Hayward & Eden Youth preparing a community survey for the South Hayward Market

During Fall ‘23, over 1400 residents were surveyed to assess interest in creating a South Hayward Market. We received nearly unanimous support. Based on this feedback, Feed Hayward (in partnership with Eden Youth, Agricultural Institute of Marin, Hayward Night Market, BART, and the City of Hayward) is currently organizing a monthly market pilot, set to launch this summer in South Hayward with funding from the Hayward Peoples’ Budget.
